Broadway’s Gallery space features an immersive multimedia installation by Lois Hopwood. Room 2 features two-screen moving image work, by Ahmed Mohsen Monsour, Liryc Dela Cruz and Ross Little. Tabitha Carver’s VR Installation and Tilly Shiner’s 8mm film, Hula Thunder-Clap can be found near the Paul Smith Screen. Broadway will be screening a number of animation and moving image works, details of which can be found in the events programme.

Lena Peters is a ceramicist whose works play with folkloric narratives. Her interest in folklore, mythology, history and nature results in work that dances between the real and the unreal, creating illustrative objects which work to embody her storytelling.

In partnership with Yiyuan Tang, Shanghai, China. UK Young artists are delighted to present work from eight young chinese artists Lin Sen, Shiyuan Zhou, Alex Yuan, Xi Tang, Zhiying Shi, Lu Dan, Wang Banyu and Mengtei Zhou.. This exhibition opens Saturday 12 January to celebrate Chinese New Year and runs across the City Takeover, closing on Sunday 24 February.

Ground Floor Gallery: Within this exhibition process and routine informs the work of many artists. Other works have a central focus on manipulation and tactility of material.

In the upper gallery work presented explores identity, gender and its relationship to both private and public spheres.

This exhibition brings together a number of artists who at the core of each of their practices have an underpinning of a material exploration. Presenting work, both floor and wall based to explore use of materials, from manipulation to a reduction, leading in many cases to abstraction. Artists include: Andy Boot, Bohyeon Kim, Fabio Ranzolin, Jernej Čuček Gerbec, Natasha Sabatini and Oliver Doe.
