Case For Arts

Anna Manfield’s collection of sculptural objects takes inspiration from primary learning aids like building blocks. Individual modules varying in shape, size and colour can be displayed and arranged to form different structures. Minimal forms are derived from early educational principles such as the use of primary colours and the reference of the Circle, Square and Triangle.

The slip cast forms created by Bethany Stafford are a direct response to her inspiration from the brutalist style. Contemporary and trend influenced colour schemes are used to update the subdued tones associated with the movement. These pieces fit together to create various compositions depending on the surrounding ambience, conclusively celebrating the geometric angles and changing viewpoints in the buildings she had studied.
