Exhibitions
As you explore Leicester, keep your eyes peeled for site-specific mini artworks by Kirsty Kerr, and large scale photographs by Mustafa Boga. Locations to be announced soon!
A presentation of work by Jarvis Brookfield, KirkwoodBrothers and Jack McCombe, who all through their works present a juxtaposition of themes and subject matters that connect with their own personal battles and experiences.
This exhibition will present the personal experiences of mental health and disability, captured through humour, drawing, painting and miniature sculptures. Paintings of faceless figures manifest an ongoing interest into the mythological stories and artefacts of ancient societies, and industrial-like sculpture is combined with the sounds of a 200 year old composition performed by a whistling choir.
On TV monitors in DMU’s Gallery, you can find film works by Ella Frears and Fauve Alice, and Tom ‘n’ Rob.
A presentation of work by ENNÈ, Twenty One Rocks and Navneet Virk highlighting each of the artist's recent transition into practicing a new artform.
This exhibition will feature a body of graffiti-inspired paintings - a visual translation of singer/songwriter turned painter ENNÈ’s thinking process and personal faith. Sculpture by UKNA alumni photographer Twenty One Rocks, and a textile installation exploring sustainability by fashion designer Navneet Virk.
Leicester’s independent cinema and digital arts centre, Phoenix, will be hosting works by artists Rowland Hill and Hope Strickland.
At Leicester Contemporary, you will find a new site-specific mural painting by Alexandra Macupova.
Alexandra’s large murals are here to brighten up your day. It’s something where you’ll lose your consciousness and control. Let go of your everyday troubles and surrender to the shapes, colours and patterns.
A presentation of work by Tom Faber, Lucy Gregory, Ant Hamlyn, Lucy Naylor, and Alexandra Macupova.
This exhibition will present works exploring playfulness and its various meaning/interpretations, from the experimentation and combination of digital and traditional art forms, industrial and and inflatable architecture reimagined and resized into miniature installations, and the inhuman and the human intertwined in a bizarre and comic realisation through kinetic sculpture.
An exhibition presenting work by LeShaun Douglas, Piotr Krzymowski, Ryan Heath and Ben Morris, who through their artistic practices, present the different ways in which humans connect physically and emotionally through products of mass communication.
At Attenborough Arts Centre, encounter works by Jarvis Brookfield, Mustafa Boga, Claye Bowler, Morgan Dowdall, Beverley Duckworth, Lucy Gregory, Pratima Kramer and Piotr Krzymowski.
