Michael Pinchbeck - Concerto

A special performance from one of UKYA’s first alumni. A unique musical experience inspired by Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand featuring world- renowned concert pianist Nicholas McCarthy. Infamous pianist Paul Wittgenstein commissioned Ravel to write him a concerto after he lost his right arm during the First World War. The assassin that triggered that conflict, Gavrilo Princip, was kept in shackles in prison in Terezin, his withered arm tied up with piano wire, fading into the snow.

Diggery / Wilderness Hymnal / Oberon White

Wilderness Hymnal’s live performances focus on transporting audiences and fostering an intense emotional connection through dynamic, immersive sound, projection and costume. Modern-day, queer shaman Oberon White takes us on a journey into the mysteries of history’s suppressed queer deity, Dionysos. Through a language of experimental electronic music, virtuosic vocals and original text, audiences are participants in a communal experience.
