G R A F T: A show of UK young artists
The Harris Museum, Art Gallery & Library in partnership with UK Young Artists are excited to present G R A F T showcasing artists living, working and making across the UK today.
Come and celebrate making and see over 20 UK young artists perspectives on being human - and how we are all grafters working towards something. See highly colourful film, print, and ceramics, playful sculpture, and installation through to live dance and experimental performance. G R A F T provides twists and turns, highs and lows and a wealth of curiosity and imagination in an uncertain but still human world.
Artists will takeover the top floor exhibition gallery, immerse themselves in our collections and tip toe around the library to highlight different ways that artists create and celebrate the architectural spaces that the Harris has to offer.
GRAFT has been developed by artist and curator Garth Gratrix in collaboration with UKYA and The Harris as a legacy of the UKYA City Takeover: Nottingham 2019. Providing a group of artists with a paid exhibition opportunity as chosen during a site visit whereby both organisations and young people from Preston selected 20 artists.
"Being from Preston and included in this show of national artists is an incredible opportunity"- Beth Wise, Exhibiting artist and UCLAN student ambassador based in Preston.
"It's exciting to be invited to show my work at the Harris and to be included in a group of talented young artists, exploring a wide variety of subjects"- Kerry Tenbey, Exhibiting artist and curatorial assistant based in Blackpool.
