The Language of Youth: Graffiti Workshop
Are you a young person based in the East Midlands? Join us for a FREE, one-day graffiti workshop with artist Lucy Withers at Ilkeston Contemporary Arts.
This workshop is all about sparking real, face-to-face conversations and enjoying the process of creating without worrying about being perfect. Through drawing activities, we’ll explore techniques that encourage spontaneity and freedom. We’ll dive into the world of graffiti and other forms of permanent mark-making, reflecting on what they say about identity and the places we belong to. We’ll also take a closer look at the branding, images and language we see in marketing and think about how we can flip those messages so they feel more real and in touch with what it means to be human.
When: Saturday 8th March
Where: Ilkeston Contemporary Arts, 114 Heanor Rd, Ilkeston DE7 8TB
No prior experience is necessary. Lunch and materials will be provided – just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind!
