Danni Spooner and Carise Zangerle Murray

Danni Spooner is a U.K. based dance artist who creates her own work and performs in others. Her own work focuses on ‘queer culture’ and ‘cyborg culture’. With two important pieces of work film work “FAG” (2016), a Random Acts commission and “Alienate” (2017).

Carise Zangerle Murray is a freelance visual artist, Musician and educator based in the East Midlands with a background in psychological science.
Carise's visual art work explores magical realism and abstract expressionism through textural and colour paint studies. As a musician Carise performs in an ambient duo called Mythm as well as for sound healing journeys.

alienate

Alienate' is a live performance piece exploring cyborg culture from a digital native perspective.
Danni and Carise aim to demonstrate through choreography, sound and projection, the notion that technology is the structure of cycles in nature and thus not bound to the digital realm.

Alienate' received R&D residency at LAKE Studios in Berlin with Carise Zangerle Murray and Danni Spooner, which is where the work was created.

The work reached its final product in February 2018 as part of Destress Fest at The attenborough arts centre in leicester - a duration of 40 minutes.
