Garam Hong

Work is based on a mother with a nervous eyes and a shrinking look.
But this is not a documentary. It is an image of memories about the contradictory and irrational relationship that Korean society has as a family. I make an artificial stage by putting this image on the background of the resort island of Jeju where I grew up.
This work is produced in a smooth print rather than in a traditional painting style. Like a illustration I don’t want my work to be a treasure. I want to be produced as a product of modern society and I think this is a
proper way of doing things. a little vulgar or simple.
