Douglas Savage

Connor O'Mara is an aspiring musician and author, combining melancholic alternative pop music with written fiction. Themes such as sexuality, mental health, and pop culture all feature heavily in both his written and musical works, which often overlap. With a first-class degree in Media, Music and Sound (BA Hons) from Edge Hill University, Connor has experience in creating content for several mediums including print, music, radio, dance, and film.

The Quarrelsome Minds of Douglas Savage

The Quarrelsome Minds of Douglas Savage is a multimedia concept album including music, written fiction, poetry and film. The project combines alternative, melancholic pop with a pseudo-historical narrative to create an immersive storytelling experience. Set in an alternate past, the story follows Douglas Savage, poster boy for Robo-Cola’s “Hive” campaign, a new colony on the moon, advertised as a paradise for the LGBTQ community. In this segment, we see the titular character’s journey from his own perspective. Themes such as sexuality, mental health, and pop culture all feature, with a heavy focus on LGBTQ issues.
