Bethany Stafford
Bethany Stafford is a ceramic artist specialising in mould making and slip casting. Graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2016 this led her to her current position on the Ceramic Starter Studio Programme at Yorkshire Artspace. The programme has allowed Bethany to expand her skills and knowledge around building a business and developing work. In 2017 Bethany exhibited at New Designers One Year On and won the London Design Fair Associates Award, which allowed her to exhibit at TENT in September 2017. Since then I have been continuing to develop my practice and produce a new collection for Sep 2018.
CityScape
The slip cast forms created by Bethany Stafford are a direct response to her inspiration from the brutalist style. Contemporary and trend influenced colour schemes are used to update the subdued tones associated with the movement. These pieces fit together to create various compositions depending on the surrounding ambience, conclusively celebrating the geometric angles and changing viewpoints in the buildings she had studied.
