Jo Kelen
Jo is a poet, born and raised in South East London, and currently a student at Nottingham University. She has been writing poetry for as long as she can remember and has recently started performing.
A lot of thanks to the improvement in poetry and performance technique must be given to the Mouthy Poets Collective – a poetry group based in Nottingham. She has performed quite a lot in venues across Nottingham and this summer in Strawberry Fields Festival in Leicestershire as a Mouthy Poet.
She feels honoured to be performing in the UK Young Artists Festival. It is the first time that she will be performing as an individual rather than as a Mouthy Poet.

ANIMAL ANTICS
Jo Kelen’s poetry tends (or at least intends) to be funny and whimsical, with the odd political/emotive tickle thrown in here and there for good measure. Most of her poetry is about animals. Why? She is not so sure… The set put together for the UK Young Artists Festival is a compilation of some of her favourite poems and some of her most recent. The show should be entertaining and light-hearted. Giggling and maybe even the odd heckle will be warmly appreciated.
