HYPE UP #1: Keto

Here at UKYA, we love to bang the drum for the incredible artists that we support and work with. Our new series, HYPE UP, will share news from our alumni, as well as throwing spotlight on some stand out events we've attended across the country. Expect news and views of exhibitions; artist features; new releases; and our top picks from the arts and cultural calendar in the UK and beyond!

First in UKYA's HYPE UP series, we're super excited to share news from Keto; UKYA Alumni from our Derby City Takeover (2016) and selected artist for UKYA City Takeover: Nottingham 2019.

Keto: the hypnotic orchestration of Leah Sanderson, offers a fresh and quintessentially English take on millennial folk.

This year, Keto has been on a full UK and Ireland tour supporting critically acclaimed songwriter, Simone Felice (Three Billboards.,), after a busy 2017 performing at the Green Man Festival, Glastonbury festival, Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in Reykjavik, and in Paris, and going on a full UK tour with Julia Jacklin. Keto caught the attention of PRS, making her one of the recipients of the ‘Women Make Music’ fund.

With this Keto travelled to record in the eerily serene Outer Hebrides. Keto’s next anticipated and most complete work to date, due 2018, titled 'Blackened Pool' is available for a limited edition pre-order over on QRATES - UKYA has just ordered our copy and recommends you do the same!

To whet your appetite, check out Keto's new video for Always, and give her some love on social media:
