No one belongs here more than you, participatory performance by Chiara Dellerba & UK Young Artists

Saturday 31 August 2019 at the SO Festival, Skegness.

No one belongs here more than you was a participatory performance exclusively for SO Festival 2019.

“Led by artist and curator Chiara Dellerba, participants will take a walk around Skegness; from Tower Gardens to the Pier, to the Pleasure Beach. Along the journey, you will undertake a series of short activities, such as a mini-meditation or making up a recipe, all the time investigating Skegness as a place with hidden, precious characteristics to explore and love. You’ll be asked to capture some pictures and short videos during the performance, which will be uploaded as an Instagram gallery to document the experience #noonebelongsheremorethanyou.

No one belongs here more than you invites participants to look at Skegness through the looking glass of nine artists who took part in ‘Terrain Vague’, the Skegness weekender residency run by UK Young Artists in collaboration with So Festival in April 2019. Over three days, artists from across the UK explored Skegness and undertook a series of activities to re-imagine it as a utopia.

At the end of the performance, you will get to take home a publication - an activity pack of sorts, containing visual and writing suggestions to experience Skegness and nearby areas through the looking glass of an artist, to try with friends and family.”
