This will happen through conversation, writing and making together.

The research began with an interest in the history of Art Schools within Lincoln and how art education has shifted over time. The workshop looks at how art education can have a positive future and continue to happen , with a focus on how we would like this to happen.

A mix of visual art, sound installation, film and live performance, 'Soft Egg, Don't Wear It' is a culmination of the artists' time together in Mablethorpe as collaborators in June 2023. The group had an immediate personal and professional connection that has led to the works you will see. The group was interested in the people of rural spaces; how they interact with it - building character and narrative, having conversations with people. Location: St Mary Le Wigford, 3 St Mary's St, Lincoln LN5 7AR

Time: 10.00 - 16.00

‘Straight from the Horse’s Mouth’ is a sound installation which explores the popular fact that horses can hear up to 4km away. The work investigates the inevitable bond that the people and the city of Lincoln have with the horses living on the South and West Commons. This site specific sound installation documents a walk performed and recorded by the artist on Friday 8th September 2023.

Through the act of listening to the horse’s perspective, the work asks us to experience Lincoln and consider its inhabitants differently.

Difficult Conversations

Exploring the concept of 'difficult conversations,' Sam Tahmassebi and Harrison Taylor have crafted sculptures that challenge our ways of coexistence and interaction in an era marked by polarised identities and perspectives. Combining Harrison's expertise in methodology, research, and sculpture, with Sam's profound inquiries into society, psychology, and philosophy, this dynamic duo presents a thought-provoking representation of the complex dynamics and dialogues that define our contemporary society.
