Site Specific Workshop with Joe Rowley

In March 2017 UKYA's Young Curator, Joe Rowley delivered an all day workshop at Loughborough University exploring site specific art and interventions. Joe is currently studying for his MFA at Valand Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden and was delighted to share his expertise and practice with students and practicing artists from the region. After a morning of discussion and provocations, the artists worked in small groups to create site specific interventions around campus. One participant said:

It was a totally new aspect of art that we were exposed to and Joe guided us step by step before encouraging us to be experimental within the task he set. I was guided into a world of art I knew nothing about and I've come out confident experimenting with site and space and I have found that it has been informing my own practice since.
